Where is the Hindu Society of North America located?
HSNA is based in Calgary, Alberta. We hold kathas, festivals, and community programs around the city. Larger events are often at the Genesis Centre in NE Calgary.
Do I have to pay to attend HSNA events or kathas?
No. HSNA kathas, festivals, and programs are free to attend. At many events, prasad and bhandara are served after the program.
What ceremonies and services does HSNA offer?
Acharya Vinod Sodiyal performs Vivah Sanskar, Griha Pravesh, Satyanarayan Katha, Rudrabhishek, Janam Patri readings, and spiritual counsel. Visit Services to request a puja or call Acharya ji.
Can anyone attend, or do I need to be Hindu?
Everyone is welcome. You do not need to be Hindu or already connected with HSNA. In the spirit of वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम्, come respectfully and sit with the community.
Does HSNA officiate Hindu weddings?
Yes. Acharya Vinod Sodiyal is a certified acharya and registered wedding officiant. He has performed hundreds of Hindu weddings in Calgary and worldwide.
What languages does HSNA serve the community in?
HSNA serves in English and Hindi. Acharya ji leads ceremonies and katha in Hindi and Sanskrit, with explanations so families can follow along.
