About Acharya ji
Acharya Vinod Sodiyal holds a PhD in Sanskrit and has spent his life in the service of Hindu worship and teaching. He began as the head priest of a Shiv Mandir in Meerut, India, before moving to Calgary in 2004 to serve the growing Hindu community in Canada.
In Calgary, he served as the head priest of the Hindu Society of Calgary mandir for three years, leading daily worship and guiding families through life's milestones. Today he leads the Hindu Society of North America as its acharya and spiritual guide.
Through HSNA, Acharya ji helps families take part in Hindu rituals with understanding: home pujas, Ram Katha, Ganga Aarti, festivals, spiritual counsel, and guidance for important family milestones. He is also a certified Hindu wedding acharya and a registered officiant, and has led hundreds of weddings in Calgary and around the world.
His grounding in Sanskrit and the shastras keeps the vidhi intact, while his teaching helps children, youth, and families follow what is happening.
