Jai Shri KrishnaAbout the Katha
A seven-day Gyan Yajna
The Shrimad Bhagwat Katha is a sacred recitation of the Srimad Bhagavatam, telling the leelas of Lord Krishna and the values of dharma, devotion, and surrender. Over seven evenings, the community gathers for song, prayer, and reflection.
Each session is followed by Prasad and Bhandara. Entry is free and all are warmly welcome, so bring your family and friends.

Participate
Become a Yajman
You are warmly invited to participate as a Yajman: to take the sacred privilege of leading the rituals of the Katha, and to dedicate the yajna for yourself, your family, and your ancestors.
Why we serve as Yajmans
The seva is ours to carry
We don't watch the Katha from the hall. Our own hands light the lamp and offer the daily Pooja, and we sit with the Havan until it's complete.
We serve as a family
Husband and wife at the front, children beside us, in the name of our parents and the elders who brought us this far. For a week we hold them all in one place.
We keep the doors open for everyone
The Katha is free, and no one leaves hungry. That happens because some of us step forward to carry it, so the whole community can come and sit together.
Dakshina & registration
The Yajman dakshina helps us host the Katha for everyone. All Pooja and Havan samagri (materials) are provided — your contribution simply covers the seva you take on.
Suggested Dakshina can be e-transferred to hindusociety@hsna.ca. If any senior or devotee is unable to contribute, please reach out — you are most welcome to participate.
The complete Yajman guide
Daily Pooja timings, what to bring, the July 19 Havan, the full participant guidelines (niyam & sainyam), and your coordinators — all in one place.
